Blue Jeans Cable is looking to add a full-time cable technician/customer support person ( we hate job titles so usually call this a "cable jockey" or some such thing) to our staff. Duties of the position will include assembly of audio, video and data cables; customer support work by e-mail and telephone; packing and shipping; and, because we're a small company, pretty much whatever may happen to need doing. In the near term the work may also include helping with our upcoming move to a new facility in Seattle's Interbay area.

There are no specific minimum skills or experience required; we welcome the skills you have and will train you in the things you don't know how to do. But any of the following would be helpful, so be sure to let us know about them:

  • Experience in electronics assembly, especially soldering experience;
  • Experience in customer relations;
  • The sort of excessive, geekish familiarity with consumer electronics, home theater, computer networking, audio and video that makes family and friends turn to you for advice;
  • An easy-going mood (we like our customers and we want you to like them, too!);
  • Excellent command of written English (and other languages are a plus, too!);
  • The ability to tell tales that would chill Samuel Taylor Coleridge and Mary Shelley to the bone.

Starting pay will be $15/hour; we also provide health insurance and maintain a SEP-IRA plan for which employees become eligible in the fourth year of employment.

Please send your resume to us at sales@bluejeanscable.com and include the word "Employment" in the subject heading of your e-mail.
